Crane Authority has hundreds of versatile models of hoists.
Electric Chain Hoist
Electric chain hoists offer the best option for lifting 5-tons or less. When selecting an electric hoist you need to determine the voltage or power supply (single phase or 3-phase), capacity, lift (length of chain), suspension (hook, geared trolley, motorized trolley), pendant control length (length of push button controller), duty cycle, hoist speed, trolley speed, and beam size. Electric chain hoists can also be configured with a weatherproofing option for the use of the hoist in an outdoor environment,
Air hoists are generally more expensive than electric hoists. Air chain hoists (also known as pneumatic hoists) are the preferred product when a continuous duty cycle is required, where infinitely variable control is required, or the application is in an explosive environment (requiring an explosion proof hoist). Other items you need to consider when choosing an air chain hoist is hoist speed, lift (length of chain), suspension (hook, push trolley, motorized trolley), pendant station or pull-cord controlled. Some application may require your air hoist to have spark resistant features such as stainless steel hooks, stainless steel chain, and bronze trolley wheels.
A hand chain hoist or chain fall is used for vertical lifting only. Lever hoists or come-alongs are used for horizontal pulling or for vertical lifting. Come alongs are also portable and used by cranking on the lever handle. When selecting a manual hoist you need to determine the type required (hand chain or lever), capacity in tons, lift (length of chain), suspension (hook, geared trolley, and motorized trolley), hand chain length, lifting material (cable or chain) and beam size.
Hand Chain and Lever Hoists
Our biggest come along hoist and manual chain hoist sellers are Harrington Hoist, Coffing Hoist, Columbus McKinnon, Lug-All, Ross, Tractel and Budgit Hoist. You can be confident that any hoist you buy from these manufacturers will meet or exceed the ANSI and OSHA standards and will
provide years of service.
Electric Wire Rope Hoists
Wire rope hoists offer the best option for lifting 5-tons or more. When selecting a wire rope hoist you need to determine the voltage (single phase or 3-phase), capacity, lift (length of cable), suspension (lug, geared trolley, motorized trolley), pendant length (length of push button controller), duty cycle, hoist speed, trolley speed, and beam size. Wire rope hoists also come in a stainless steel option for explosion proof hoist applications.
